
The Algerian Dinar, divided into 100 centimes, is the official currency of Algeria. This currency comes in paper denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 dinars. Coinage comes in 5,10,20 and 50 centimes as well as 1, 5 and 10 dinars. The Algerian Dinar is abbreviated as DA.
Some hotels change traveller's cheques but the only bank to do so is the Banque National d'Algérie.
Credit cards are not a generally accepted form of payment in Algeria.
