Language

Arabic is the primary language of around 82% of the populace. Most of the remainder speak various Berber dialects with Arabic as a second language.
French colonialism left French as the second language of many educated Algerians. English is rarely spoken. The Touareg tribes in the south of the country speak two Berber dialects.
